My dad's Aluminum Powerbook (15") keyboard seems to have gone crazy, and certain keys don't work, whereas other keys give him the wrong result. Example, you hit 'w', and you get '6' typed out.

Rebooting won't help, and suggestions? This is urgent, thanks!
 
Make sure you are on US (or local) keyboard setting. Also, make sure num lock is off.

You can change the area by going system preferences -> International (assuming your on tiger).
 
Ok, the problem is solved! Turns out it WAS the num lock key, he just didn't think it was because he didn't even realize the Powerbook had one! Ah... anyways. Thanks for your help!
