I'm planning to buy an iMac today to run Photoshop and Flash CS3, a couple of email programs, and run Vista through parallels - all at the same time.

In order to get a really smooth experience using it, should I get the 2.4 or 2.8 and should i go for a faster processor or a slower processor but with more memory?

Slower and more memory. However you can save a lot of money gonig down the third party RAM route so perhaps this saving can mean you can get both. Worth looking in to.

More RAM, no question at all, especially for those apps. The tangible difference between 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz is negligible. More RAM will make a huge difference.

Slower CPU more memory every time.

Or just get the better cpu and upgrade the memory for cheap on your own.

Slower processor but with more memory – use a 2.4 for design with loads of ram – works perfect.

Thanks guys, I think i''ll be the 2.4 then - what kind of RAM is reputable besides the Apple ram?

Definitely slower processor and more ram. You can never have too much ram .. :)

I have used Crucial ram for quite a few years and never experienced any difficulties ... highly recommended
