URGENT: those who requested "Hold for Pickup", check your status again

I'm in NYC.

Called UPS to request "Hold for Pickup" yesterday (Tuesday) morning. The site has been showing "Hold for Pickup requested" until today. The new status says "Reschedule Delivery - The scheduled delivery date has been updated." UPS customer service told me that "Hold for Pickup" request could not be completed because of the new request, which I never made.

None of this makes any sense.

Panic attack. Pope attack.

It's entirely possible that they've simply canceled the ability for people to pick up in areas that are effected by delivery. It makes sense they don't want a line for 10,000 wanting to pick up their phones at the UPS store.

Then how come others in NYC are able to request a hold though??

NYC is going to be a CF on Friday between Apple and the Pope.

Those of us living anywhere else will not be affected.

Can you still place a hold? I imagine the CC will be a zoo, but still, better than nothing

Did your scheduled delivery date actually change? Sometimes I get that message and it hasn't, they've just removed/changed the delivery window (which you don't need when your package is held for pickup).
