I was doing some work with WhatSize and then Techtool to free some disk space up on my storage drive (internal, not my boot drive), and the name changed from "AlexanderHD" to "AlexanderHD 1", so now Backblaze won't back it up. I try changing it, but it won't change. The weird part is, it doesn't show up as incorrect in Disk Utility or on the desktop, only when looking at the drive's info in Finder. TechTool also sees it as "AlexanderHD 1"

How do I change it back to "AlexanderHD" like it is supposed to be?

Right-click on the drive in Finder... Get Info... change the name. Did you click the padlock and enter your admin password? You could also change it using Disk Utility.

Just tried it- doesn't change anything. It shows up as the proper name in Disk Utility, but the mount point is wrong. That's got to be a clue.

Do you have another drive/volume somewhere named Alexander HD? Even if it is an external like a thumb drive or something that you may have plugged in. I went through this when I had a external HDD and a thumb drive both with a "Backup" partition. When I had them both plugged in at the same time, one of them would automatically get remapped as "Backup 1". That looks like what is happening with your system. If OS X detects two partition mounted with the same name it will add the 1 to one of them.
