Urgent warrantee help needed!

Right a pal of mine brought a Unibody Macbook pro 15” form an advertisement he saw in the local paper, he was told that it need a new battery and power cable and essentially brought it as ‘sold as seen’

After getting this thing home, and taking it to an apple specialist, it turn out that the HD has been removed and it has a faulty logic board..

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE!!!

Will Apple do anything? If he brought the Hard drive and could prove that the logic board was faulty, would they replace it?

Take it to an Apple Store and get them to look at it. Sounds like a pretty dicey deal. They might entertain warranty help if the thing is still under Applecare.

The odds of helping your buddy are probably slim, and he should look to getting his money back from the seller. It does sound like he was scammed and its highly unlikely that he'll ever see his money back

Take it to an apple store and see what they say but w/o the original receipt apple may charge for the work.

btw, why did you put urgent in the title, clearly your request is not urgent that it needed to be answered immediately
