Hi all,

I just restarted my macbook pro because my camera was not working and I got a really strange and worrying screen......

It was a grey screen and it had two options - One was MAcbook HD and the other said Recovery and both had images of a Hardisk.

Then below I could select a wireless network...

What the hell is this?? I just restarted the macbook.......What does this mean??

I selected Macbook HD and no wireless network and it started up ok....

I havent upgraded my OS to mavericks......does anyone know what this could be and why it happened??

Anything I can do to check all is ok??

Thanks!

That's the screen which appears if you press and hold option while the system boots/power on. Did you have anything on the keyboard by chance when this happened?

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about, it is a normal feature of the boot process called "Startup Manager" on the Mac. It will show up if you hold the "option" key when booting or if you have multiple operating systems installed.

Did you accidentally hold the "option" key when you were booting your Mac?
