Hey guys,

I'm looking to purchase an iPhone 5 in either US or Canada (my wife is from America, while I'm from Canada) next month. We will be moving to China in Spring 2014, however, so I want to make sure my phone will work in Asia. Should I go for the A1428 or the A1429 model? Based off some preliminary research, it seems that Canada sells only the A1428 model.

I also want to make sure my phone works in the US and Canada whenever we come back to N. America to visit.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As long as you get the GSM unlocked version, you'll be able to use it fine overseas. In the US, that means contract free Tmobile through the Apple store or just plain unlocked, also through the Apple store.
