Hello,

I am studying abroad next semester in London and am trying to find out whether or not I can manage to bring my iPhone instead of having to buy another phone for my time there.

Normally, I would just go without it but I will be living there for four months and obviously won't be able to afford roaming charges! I currently have the iPhone 4 and do not want to jailbreak it -- but I have the first iPhone around somewhere so I figured there was no harm trying with that one.

So, is it even possible to use a UK carrier's sim in a US iPhone? If so, has anyone had any luck using a US iPhone in England using an Orange Pay As You Go Plan? Or maybe O2? It seems like that would be a cheaper monthly option than buying a cheaper phone altogether. And honestly, I don't want to give the iPhone up! = )

Thanks!
