US iPhone (V1) - How to get EDGE working on O2?

I have an iPhone which is unlocked and jailbroken - it was one of the first ones released in the US. I have an O2 sim card in there but EDGE refuses to work and I dunno where to put the settings

Fill in that form and if that doesnt work, do this:

1) Activate open SSH and connect to your iPhone
2) Go to /<root>/system/library/Carrier Bundles/O2_UK.bundle/
3) Upload and replace the modified file 'carrier.plist' to the directory.
4) Restart your iPhone.
