Hi all,

First off, I know that there are a lot of threads on this, but I would most appreciate your advice and comments...

Basically, I have an iTunes account, and as expected, there's practically nothing available that I really want....however, the US store has loads of good stuff!

I've read all the threads on how some members on here "sell" cards to others, and I'd like to do that, but want to make sure that it's not illegal first...

Surely Apple aren't going to sue me for buying music!
If I wanted to, I could easily buy CDs from the US!

Also, how would one go about registering an account and all?

appledu, a little

I know thanks...

But what does iTunes ask for when I enter the code? Do I need a US address, or just a ZIP? Can I just use any address in the US? (Any ideas?)

Is it illegal to do so, how much trouble could I get in?

All I want to do is buy a few songs!

You need a US address but since you're not putting in a credit card, there's no reason it should be a 'live' one. I use a pal who lives in CA since if anything did show up in my name, it wouldn't be an entire surprise to her.

As for legality, the T&Cs do say that you are restricted to using the iTMS in your country and you should download material from other countries. But since people might be on vacation, temporarily abroad etc, it doesn't appear to have been a big enough issue (to date) for them to block IP addresses from outwith that country.

They dont care where you are from as long as you pay.

Not at the moment (and relatively unlikely in the future) - but technically, the T&C do limit you to your geographic area so in the future, they could stop/block your account and there would be very little you could do to argue the point.

Fair enough, but apart from closing my account, they can't do much more, can they?

If I get one off eBay, should I then register it with my real name, or a fake?

What are the odds that something will "show up in my name" at the address?
What type of address should I use? hotel? apartment block?
