iPod US Pre-Paid Card...can I get it to work in Canada?

I was able to do this for my mom, but for the life of me I can't get it to work on my account. Can someone explain how this is possible? What "tricks" I need to use...I have a US based address, but no credit card with a US billing Address (this is where the difficulty seems to lie).

Every time I login into the US site it says "My account is good for Canada and forwards this to the CDN site". I was able to enter a Gift Card for my mom on the US site by "dummying" the address info with a US address, but didn't need a C card.

Go to the US store, enter the card code, make a new account, provide a fake address.
