So was thinking about how to get the latest phone but I'm going to be in the UK and eastern Europe around the 22nd for launch.

Seems like advantages to buying in the UK are the following

1. Costs 10% more but that includes VAT tax which I can get at rebate when I leave
2. Unlocked
3. Perhaps better availability since Europe is more android focused.. Last year I recall 7+ availabile in Stores there where US was scarce.

Any problems people can see doing this even tho I am a US Tmobile customer? Obviously harder to sell my existing iPhone abroad and I think carrier activiation might be problematic swapping in the tmobile sim card.

You can unlock any US TMO phone after 45 days use on the network if using the no interest monthly payment or imeddiately if you pay full price at once.

Not a T-Mo customer, but wasn't there some concern about VOLTE or some features only being available on "T-Mobile versions". Now that the phone is (mostly) universal, maybe this isn't a problem anymore.
