USB 2.0 and Firewire

With Firewire on it's way out, has anyone heard of a new USB standard. I know we now have USB 2.0, but is there a faster version that will be coming out?

Faulty premise.

Firewire is NOT on the way out, simply because recent iPods don't contain it. (no other brand of MP3 player does either).

There's no guarantee that firewire is on its way out.

And no I haven't heard anything about the next USB standard, however the best place to look for this type of information is at the USB Site.
