So I bought a USB 3 hub, the QacQoc 8 in 1 hub, and it will only pass 50 watts of power to the MacBook while connected. Depending on what the 15 inch MacBook is doing at the time it is or isn't enough to charge it. Now the problem I have been having with shopping for this hubs is that a lot of them aren't listing the amount of power they will pass, some that do list say 50 or 60 watts. Is there one that is portable that has an ethernet port, HDMI, and SD card slot that will also pass the 87 Watts of power to the Mac when I need to plug up? The ones that seem to be capable of that are thunderbolt docking stations that are designed to live on my desk, which I will likely get one for the desk, but its not useful for when I am mobile. I am hoping someone has bought something that they like and can give a recommendation. Honestly, sorting through all the crap out there is getting tiring.
