With USB-C allowing us to connect our MBPs to a display, whilst handling data and power, as well as video....

...any anyone worried about increased charge cycles, given the cable will always be connected to the display, thus always charging?

Pre-USB-C days, you would connect to a display, and then charge separately as and when needed. Will having power connected have a negative impact?

I was charging almost every time I was connected to a monitor anyway

Plenty of people used the cinema displays that provided power as well

i don't think it's a problem to have the Macbooks always connected to a charger.
my 2012 MBPR is almost always connected and has only 193 cycles and still 88% of the original capacity. which is great for a 6 year old battery.

193 cycles on a 2012 model? Have you ever used it for a what it is? A laptop? :|

My 2012 had over 4K cycles before the logic board died (I f’ed it up) in 2016.

I mostly use it on the couch. And there's a power outlet right next to it... Don't see the need to remove it from the power source ;)

The only time i remove it, is when i don't use it on the couch.

When i leave the house i usually take the iPad mini with me.
