iPad Pro USB-C and photo tethering?

Anyone know of it will be possible to send photos via USB-C while still shooting? Or once you connect it to the iPad its turns into « transfer only » mode?
 
Hoping for this as well although I’m considering attempting to develop my own app that may allow a workaround for this
