I have an interesting thing happening with a new LG Ultrawide 34WN80C-B monitor. I was going to use the monitor as a USB hub for the rest of my peripherals, but the sound didn't work to my speakers. SO...I have it connected to my Belkin Thunderbolt 3 dock via a USB-C cable. I also have my webcam connected via USB to the monitor. Both work just fine.

My issue is on startup. my MacBook Pro 2019 16" does not recognize the monitor when I initially connect it to the Thunderbolt doc via the USB-C Thunderbolt cable. I have to unplug the monitor (USB-C cable) at the back and plug it back in. At that point, everything works great.

Any suggestions/ideas as to why the MBP isn't recognizing the monitor upon wake/startup? Maybe I need to wake up the monitor before connecting? Anything would be appreciated.

TIA.
