USB-C extension/USB C hub cable issue

Hi there,
I bought a USB-C extension cable (see pic) for one of the thunderboltports of my M1 MacBook Pro 14 (2021). I am connecting a USB-C hub (see pic) to the extension cable. Got the following issue: USB devices connected to the hub are powered - but (midi) data is not being transmitted. If I connect the USB-C hub directly to my MacBook Pro (without extension cable) there is no issues. Anyone got an advise on which type of extension cable to buy to make things work ?

Unfortunatley not - i tried two different brand new cables
