USB-C Flash Drive showing duplicate files on my Windows 10 machine from MacOS

I have a USB-C pen drive formatted as ExFAT and I recently added some files from my MacBook Pro and plus a DMG file which is LibreOffice installation file.

When I opened up my USB-C pen drive on my Windows 10 machine, I see duplicates as shown here from the attached image.
Why is this?

The files with the period (.) prefix are intended to be invisible. Specifically, files with the period/underscore (._) prefix are "resource forks". CNET has an article explaining this at https://www.cnet.com/tech/computing...ed-on-some-shared-volumes-and-external-disks/

Generally, these should cause no harm.
