I've been using an Aukey USB C hub purchased from Amazon with My MBP 2017 and everything is working fine with a few of USB 3.0 devices connected and monitor via HDMI port. But, Now, I need to place the USB C hub little far from the MBP so need a USB hub with a longer cord (4~5 ft or longer) or an USB C extension cable that would work with the existing hub. I thought a simple USB C female to male extension cord would work fine, so purchased one but found the HDMI output still works fine, but I lost USB hub functionality. Searched the forum but couldn't find answers.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest trying to find a hub that does what you want, with a removable USB cable - you can then just replace the cable with a longer one if required, but also keep in mind that USB-C has some length limitations for the more advanced uses.
