I have both the USB-C and Lightning to SD card readers from Apple and use them to transfer photos/videos from my drone to my iPhone or iPad. Neither works with my iOS 16 devices and I have tried several. Do any of you use these adapters and do you have the same issue or can you see your cards and transfer the files?

Both worked prior to beta so I'm sure it's software but is it a setting or a known issue.

I have both an official one and a third party one. (Both Lightning) The third party one seemed to completely stop working with the update. The official one still seems to work about the same (which is flaky, not always detected).

They definitely seem to have done something.

Thanks for the reply. I should expect things with beta but odd its the official card reader not working. I was looking for a setting maybe but have not found one and see nothing in the developer notes.

It looks like I am in the same boat here! Can you connect the iPad to your MacBook?
I tried downgrading when I lost the ability to connect to an external monitor on my end, but the iPad doesn't even get recognized on the computer. Everything else works, charges as normal

The lightning Apple-official one I use with my iPhone 12 Pro is working fine on the iOS16 B3. Dang, that's a lot of qualifiers - but it seems fine so far.

Thanks for the reply. It seems one of the videos on the card was the issue. I tried another card and was able to transfer fine. I could see the videos on the card when using the drone software but in the end had to format and start over. Maybe there was another way but the content was just stuff I picked up killing time flying, nothing for money so not a big deal but it could have been.

Didn’t even know there was an lightning sd card reader available. I also am a commercial drone pilot, usually record the video onto my iPhone which is used as the display for the drone, and then airdrop the video to my 10.5 inch iPad Pro to send to the customers. Right now primarily flying security for local pd/sheriff departments for events… but would be nice to put an sd card in the drone and be able to record on the drone’s sd card and transfer that way, that would save the additional steps of airdropping them to the iPad and then erasing them off the phone to save space on the iPhone.

Apple SD card reader no longer works on phone upgraded to newly released iOS 16. Worked fine before upgrade, and still works fine in wife’s ios15 phone and iPad OS15.

I have just checked and my lightning SD card reader, model A1595, still works on my iPhone X running iOS 16 and my iPad Pro 10.5 running 16.1 beta 1. Thank you for the warning though.

Lightning to SD Camera Card adapter not working on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro both on iOS16.2 - anyone else? It works fine on my old iPad Mini 3, iPad 7th gen, even on an old iPhone 8 Plus... except my newer phone models. Apple Support tech got me to send error logs to them for further investiagation on Jan 04 2023 so hoping they come back with good news and/or a patch to make it work on my 2 devices. Anyone else having issues on their iphone 12 or 13? Thanks in advance!
