I know there are some concerns with those USB C magnetic adapters...but I ordered some to test.
I bought a few to try.....some even do passthrough video as well
In the few weeks I've used it, it works fine for phones and tablets.
I just drop it on the table and brush against the connector and the magnet will catch it and charge it.
For the car, it's nice but due to the weight of the overall head- connector, it's more a quick release/connect but should you pick up the phone VERT or the like...the cable will disconnect. Still a whole lot better than wireless charging in the car as well....battery does not run warm.
On the Computers, I DON'T recommend it. Even on a fully charged battery state where the power draw might be 5-25W max , the adapter body and mating male head connector of the USB C cable runs Super Hot. I suppose it's resistance to the pins or whatnot. Whereas without the magnetic adapter, the cable head is relatively cool to the touch.
Who here is using those Magnetic Adapters on your laptop ?
