Has Apple said much about how their current apps work with external monitors attached?

What happens if I plug in an external monitor with Safari open? Do I get to put tabs on the monitor? If I can run two adjacent tabs on the monitor and one on the iPad simultaneously... as a cloud development product this could really work.
