I have a Mac mini M1. Sadly Apple put the audio analogue port in a lame place and of course, Apple doesn't like us playing other types of audio files such as Flac etc. I opted to go the USB route from the Mac and connect to powered speakers that have an internal DAC.

Rather curious to see the old printer cable (A to B) etc. being used to this date and sadder that any labeled for audio use can jump up in price to crazy numbers in the hundreds of dollars.

I have opted to go for USB-C to B and was curious if anyone had some sage wisdom or could recommend a cable. Likely length required 3-5 ft.

Thanks in advance.

It's hard to beat Monoprice:

Thanks for sharing the link. I have purchased from them before for other types of cables. The catch is, sadly some audio items use the "b" plug and usually are one of the cheapest (in quality) made. In theory it shouldn't matter being digital but for audio it matters a bit and that is based on some blind tests with listeners. Fortunately for me, I won't be doing a blind test and just want something that is a solid line. What is sad are those over 200 dollar cables that are considered "audio quality" out there.

With a little investigation, I found also the Chroma Cables which seem to be rather popular with DJs and those doing electronic music. Not too expensive but a couple of dollars more than Monoprice and Cable Matters as well as Amazon Basics.

I think I'll visit Monoprice via your link again.

Thanx!
