Hey all.
So I decided to keep my MBP 16" that I got 6 days ago.
However I noticed that one of the usb ports does not click/lock the charger cable firmly. I tried with the USB hub I have and that one looses data contact and starts sliding out when you just touch it/plug in something in the hub.
I have a phone call about this in the coming weekend with the support.

So my question is are they going to swap the whole computer for a brand new one or do I have to wait on it for repair?
Do they swap only the port or is it the whole logic board?

Thanks

The connectors are removable separate from the logic board from what I've seen in a teardown.
Okay nice, maybe they don't need to wipe the SSD of the computer then?
Also, I feel starting out with issues on the new Macbook, should I consider getting the Applecare +?

TAKE IT BACK and exchange it WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO RETURN IT.
It's not going to get better on its own.

I would just swap it for another unit since you are within the return period. No use having them repair it so early.
Thing is I bought it from another online electronic store, they told me to ask Apple support first, but if they had problems the store itself would help me. Think it is weird that they don't just swap it right away..

Definitely sounds like you need to push them and not let them put this on Apple.

Bottom line is the store is the one that sold you a defective product. Send it back and let them deal with Apple.

Okay I see, I will speak to Apple on Saturday because I already have another support issue on the same machine. Hopefully Apple will just replace it or the store itself. Feels ugh to have to send it to repair when it is brand new..

So worth getting AC+. 3 years of warranty and damage? comes to like $130/year or about $10/month(monthly not offered yet, but heard it may be).

I paid $3300 for my 16 incher so for me, AC+ is a no brainer bargain.

That sounds like it is indeed worth it. My home insurance does not cover computers and I even have an additional "electronics insurance."
I checked on Apples website in Swedish and what I can see the thing about the battery under 80% and screen replacement if broken are crystal clear.
But what if for example my SSD or fans go out after 2 years. Do they repair it for free no questions asked or do I have have to pay but for a reduced price?

SSD and fans merely dying on you would be warrantied. Obviously if you spill water Or drop the machine resulting in their death, damage replacement/repair through AC+ would take precedent. A $299 USD deductible.

Okay yes so extended hardware failure warranty, that is good.
I am very careful with my devices so hopefully will not need to pay more hehe.
Thanks for the advice, going for Applecare + then.
