USB C Port Problems on 14" MacBook Pro

I've got the 2021 14" MacBook Pro and am having problems with it connecting to my 11" iPad Pro. I've used a variety of high speed cables (USB 3 and Thunderbolt 4) and when I plug the iPad in, the iPad charge indicator toggles on and off every 5 to 10 seconds and the iPad doesn't appear in the Finder.

I've tried reseting the PRAM and loading OS 12.3 but the problem persists. Any suggestions?
