The front USB-C port on my 2017 nTB MBP has completely stopped working after updating to 10.15.4

I've tried dozens of SMC and NVRAM resets to no avail. Also reinstalled Catalina through remote recovery.

Down to only one port now... I gotta recommend that no one install 10.15.4, or Catalina at all for that matter.

Did you also install the supplemental update to 10.15.4? It claims to address this problem.

Yup, I installed it and the port is still unresponsive

I had a similar issue with a Mojave security update. Plugging the usb charging cable into the affected port seemed to reset it. Maybe try that?

no luck with safe mode, does this mean it's a firmware or hardware issue?

What I mean by the port not functioning is that both power and data aren't working. Thanks for the advice, though.
