Just took delivery of my Mac Studio with M1 Max and since I do not have a Thunderbolt Display I am using DisplayPort instead of HDMI. Right now I am using a certified USB-C to DisplayPort Cable connected to my HP OMEN 27i Monitor (1440p).
The cable is rated to support up to DisplayPort 1.4. My monitor will support up to 1.2. Problem is when I enable DisplayPort Mode 1.2 and anything above 120hz on my monitor the screen goes bad with Pink lines and distortion.. almost looking like a bad monitor or GPU.
My question: Can the Mac Studio Support DisplayPort 1.2 refresh rates above 120hz? It seems like maybe it can't based on what is happening in my case.
