guys - I'm looking for a simple USB-C to HDMI cable for my MacBook Air M2 15. Can I just pick up anything from Amazon or I'll run into compatibility issues? I don't want to carry an adaptor and then a separate HDMI cable. If you recommend some brands I should stick with, that'll be great

I'm using an older Dell 22" monitor but may upgrade to an Apple monitor in the future

Thanks

I don’t know for sure, but I bought a iPadPro once and tried to use a usb-c cord for syncing and charging. No joy. I had to purchase HiSpeed USB-C from Mophi (or Mofi I forget). I suggest you call Apple and buy their suggested cable.

Where I work, most of us needs HDMI support, but not all are getting MBPs (or Windows laptops) with that built in, so everybody getting Airs (or other laptops without HDMI) also gets a Satechi Slim Type-C Multi-Port Adapter.

Seems to be doing it's job, and had the added bonus of a couple of USB-A ports (that I've never used). :)

But you'd need to have the HDMI cable connected to it at all time...I move it between two locations and one of those is a projector, so having the full HDMI cable would be awkward ;)

Whilst I haven't tested it from my MBA (2020) - I know this cable works with my iPad Pro and a monitor/TV:
