No, its just checking if the cable is right one. USB C 3.1 gen1 is the one I need, I cant really see in the ad if its the correct ome

That is not really an adapter, it's a USB cable. I don't see how it would be very useful at the moment for the MB unless you want to connect the MB to another computer. Male type C> female Type A is more of an adapter, with it you can connect older usb devices.

There are adapters available for a couple dollars online, no need to buy the Apple one unless you want too.

Just make sure it's male USB type C 3.0/3.1 > female USB type A 3.0/3.1

If you have access to a google store in your country you could buy their version which looks like a quality product and is a lot cheaper than Apple's.

The HDMI converter is cheaper, but it doesn't have a USB-C power passthrough to the computer. Great price though.
