I'd like a 6 foot USB-C to USB cable to keep at work for charging with a wall USB outlet I currently have. Should I get USB 2.0 or 3? I though I read that you couldn't charge using this type of setup but that doesn't seem right. Anyone have any suggestions?

Doesn't charge per Apple, what brick would you be charging it off of? The issue is most modern wall outlet usb sockets and usb bricks don't output the required power to charge the MB

Gotcha! I should have thought about that. So no real need for a USB-C to USB make cable. So my only real backup charging options are a battery or another charger from Apple?

Well or any usb charger that puts out enough power. I think the one google sells does, but it doesn't really save you any money. It's black, which is nice, but may as well stick with Apple.

Charging from a battery pack is impractical... the laptop has to be off, and it charges at 5% per 30 mins, that'll take forever. LOL
