can you transfer files such as music, audiobooks etc quicker using usb c on the iPhone 15 to Apple Watch rather than rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?

that would be a great addition

thx

no, it would not be, USB-C port would take up a lot of space (smaller battery in same form factor) plus impact water resistance rating ...

Not what I mean mate

If I read the articles right (and I probably didn’t), you can charge an Apple Watch from an iPhone 15 using its usb c port. So I wondered if you could plug a usb c watch charger into the phone and transfer files

No, you can't plug anything into the Watch. It doesn't have any ports. All that they are saying is that you can plug an Apple Watch magnetic charger into the phone and it will charge the Watch.

You can't. That's a power only connection to a wireless charger puck.

Remember - USB-C describes a connector. There's power protocols associated with it, and a port may or may not provide for data transfer as well, though nothing requires it be any faster than USB2 speeds.

Now, it'd be interesting if Apple were to design some sort of wireless data protocol going over the Qi based charger puck, but not sure what advantage it'd have over the well established wifi.

I was curious about data transfer over usb c as I saw you can attach a usb c Ethernet adapter

Thx for the responses folks
