USB Cable

Is it possible for a USB cable to not work? When connecting the printer to the Mac and after selecting Print from the File menu, I keep getting this error message:

Just like any cable, it would be possible for a USB cable to break.

Do you have another USB cable you could try?

Can you try a different USB port?

Yesterday the right USB port on my PB b0rked out. It had shut itself off, save power, and a restart fixed it right up. My Nerd said that it was because I was drawing too much power from it, so it shut it down.

Thankfully cables are fairly free from problems, but sometimes they do go wrong.

Before trying other things, I would replace the cable.

Not yet, but I'm giving some serious thought to obtaining one.

Yes I've tried both USB ports.

I should mention that I strangly get the SAME error message when I try to print with the USB cable disconnected from the Mac.
