I'm looking for a good USB car charger that works with the lighting cable. The car charger I had for my iPhone 4 does not work when I plug the cable into the USB port.

AT&T told me they have a higher output one that does work but I don't want the additional USB connector and I don't want to pay 30 bucks for it. I'm guessing the USB adapter will need to be able to put out 5W of power just like the new cubes that come with the iPhone 5.

Does anyone know of any good and cheap ones on ebay or otherwise that actually work with the lightning cable?

I am trying to find myself one also, or ideally an fm transmitter with aux and a usb to charge iphone 5

I had to drop off a package at FedEx Office today with the intention of buying a vehicle 12v power port USB adapter at Target after the drop off. Fedex had a two port USB adapter for 11.99 and so I gave it a shot out of pure convenience. Thing works great.

I'm using a Belkin charger that has a 30 pin connector and a USB port. Plugged the lightning in, put it in the power socket and it started charging. The 30 pin cord was broken anyways so I cut that pesky thing right off. Still works great. Free.99. Lol

Perhaps the iPhone 5 requires a 1A charger where the 4 and 4S would charge with a 500ma (.5A) charger. BTW the cube that comes with the iPhone 5 is not new its the same one that came with the iPhone 4 and 4S. Only the cable has changed.
