Dear All.

I just got my replacement Macbook Air 3-4 Days ago.
Everything working perfect, The hinge is very Firm. I was very happy.

BUT the time come that I would like to transfer files between my iPad and iPhone. I plug in the lighting cable and It show as Video.
The Charging symbol keep blinking.

And I cannot do anything with it.
iTunes also blinking the name of iPad and iPhone.

PS. I USE ORIGINAL CABLE.
It is working fine with my old 2011 Macbook Pro.!!!

I am currently gave up on this.... Considering refund because it is my third time.

I got the same problem.

Oh god i got the same problem on my brand new macbook air. I thought it was because of fake cable, but i was wrong and this is serious now. OMW to apple store.

Thanks

I'm a little confused here. Is the original poster trying to transfer data between his iPad and his iPhone using the lightning/USB charging cable, or is he trying to charge his device via the battery on his other device? And what does the Macbook have to do with any of this?

I just plugged my iPhone into my MBA 2013 and the iPhoto app opened up on my MBA, and displayed the photos on my iPhone.

Is this what is supposed to happen?

Yes. That behavior can be changed in preferences somewhere, as can the automatic iTunes synching.

You need to launch the program Image Capture. It's in the Applications folder. if your device is connected, you can then change what happens with the pull down menu in the lower-left corner.

"Connecting this iPhone opens"

Change to None or better iTunes.

It's convoluted, for sure. It should be a preference setting in the System Preferences--and it should also be controllable from within iTunes and from within iPhoto.

I realize it's been a couple of months, but I thought posting could help others who stumble across this because they have the problem with iPhoto opening when they plug in their i-device!
