Okay so I couldn’t go without a day posting about iTunes (latest version 7.7.043) on my PC (WinXP-SP2);

1) Plug iPhone in, Windows either says “USB device not recognised” or the iPhone chirps every 15 seconds or so like its connecting repeatedly.

2) Why does iTunes go 100% processor utilisation and lock up? Sometimes it happens when starting the program but almost always when exiting iTunes.

Thanks :)

Update - Managed to get the iPhone recognised, I uninstalled iTunes and ran a registry scan to make sure there were no spurious entries. Then I did a clean install of the latest version.

However, it still crashes and goes 100% processor utilisation when closing iTunes - any other PC'ers experiencing this?
