This may come off as a bit weird. Due to other reasons, I've been monitoring USB connects/disconnects on my Macbook Pro and I've noticed that some USB devices occasionally disconnects briefly and reconnects a second later. These events are rare, maybe once every few days. Now don't misinterpret this, this has no EFFECT on anything as it seems. When my external LaCie drive did it, it stayed mounted, kept copying the files it were doing, there was no "inappropriate eject" warning. For all intents and purposes: without the USB debugger running, I'd never know about these events.

I'm just curious as to why this would happen. I've noticed the events in both Hammerspoon using a USB debugging script as well as Better touch tool that happens to log USB events. They are both reporting the same thing so this is not an app issue. I just don't understand what it could be and whether I should be concerned about it.

This is on a Macbook Pro M1 Max, usually connected to a Satechi Thunderbolt 4 dock.

The log looks like this:

2023-03-19 19:14:20: 19:14:20 init: USB Monitor: removed LaCie d2 Professional
2023-03-19 19:14:21: 19:14:21 USB Monitor: added LaCie d2 Professional
