I moved a bunch of my data to an external drive that I want to keep mounted all the time.
This is no problem, except that every morning when I wake my computer from sleep, it tells me the external drive was ejected improperly. The drive is still plugged in to a USB port (on my 2012 Mac Mini) but it isn't mounted and it doesn't show up in Disk Utility.
I have to unplug the drive and plug it back in to get it to show up again.
Interestingly, this only happens when the computer is asleep overnight, and not when it sleeps occasionally during the day. Is there a low(er) power mode the Mini goes into after sleeping for several hours, and is there a way to disable this mode? Thanks in advance.
