We have a single mac that we use for graphics and we have a USB drive attached to it which we use for backup. We also have a 250G OS drive, and a 500G data drive. The 500G data drive is backed up to the USB drive, but what we;'re finding is that the USB drive is being cached in the volumes folder (more than once i.e. volumes\graphics volumes\graphics1 volumes\graphics2), so we're running out of space on the OS drive. This happened before and we manually removed the copies after making sure the USB 'graphics' drive was up to date, but it's happened again.

Can anyone vie me a solution, and some information on what the volumes folder is supposed to do and what might be going on? Thanks all!

Mick
