Hi all

I've found that if I plug a USB drive into my MacBook Pro while it is asleep or just waking from sleep, OSX will not detect the drive until I unplug and reconnect it again.

Does anyone know what the problem is and why the drive doesn't just appear?

Many thanks

M

Probably because when the Mac is asleep, or in the process of "waking from sleep", the USB controller isn't "ready" to recognize newly-connected drives yet.

Solution:
Wait until the Mac is "fully waked up" and then plug in the drive...

Bummer. It's only mildly irritating and thought there might be a way to fix it.
