When using an external USB mic in iMovie, to record a quick clip of myself, I tap the mic and get 'deflection' of the meters (when you click on the mic Icon and select USB) but when listening back to the recording, it's obvious by the lower sound quality that it's still using (defaulting to) the internal mic. I've also gone to system preferences and selected the USB mic. Any suggestions?

Is the program you are recording from have the USB mic selected as it's source?
