USB Extension Port

I would like to connect a 3rd USB device to my Macbook Pro. If I purchase a standard USB Extension lead will this work?

You need a USB hub, not a USB extension, if you want to connect more devices. A "USB extension lead" would be like an extension cord for power without providing more ports.

Searching for a "USB hub" will show you what you need.
