I recently got the following USB flash drive: https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B0842NMT7F?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I use it with a CalDigit Element Hub.

Even after just plugging it in and not using it, it heats up within a few minutes to temperatures that are almost too hot to touch. If I am transferring large files, it gets burning hot. Is this normal? I have it formatted as ExFAT.
Yup the silver one gets really hot in a macbook and mac mini but hot as bad as an iPad.
The blue one is much cooler as i use 3 of these.

Thanks.

So the silver/metal one gets really hot. Will it cause any damage to the USB ports?

The blue one you mentioned is the plastic one that comes in different colors?

The silver one sometimes lost connection if used too much,
I have 3…..a silver and a blue at 128GB and black at 265 gb which causes problems.
