I think I know the answer to this before I ask but thought it worth a shot...

I have a little 4.0 GB flash drive with some stuff on it I would like to recover. When I insert it, I get "Disk Insertion: the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" error.

I can see it on disk mount. I've tried this on a number of other computers.

Any tricks or tips to get this to mount or is it a goner (which I suspect)?

If you are trying to read it on a PC, it may have either a GUID or APM header, with HFS+ as the format, which you need 3rd party software to use on a PC.

Otherwise, it may just have a damaged format, so a Mac can't read it.
