So I've been looking around at various 6 port USB/FW800 PCIe cards and 2+ port eSATA cards, and I'm unsure which to buy. I'd like decent speeds (not sluggish like barefeats has shown the Axaeon cards to be), S.M.A.R.T. support in eSATA, hot-plugging capability, and a problem free device. There aren't exactly a whole lot of reviews for this kind of hardware; so far, the best price/feature ratio I've seen is from these NitroAV cards:

I also hear good things about Firmtek's 2E eSATA card. Not sure about the Sonnet brand stuff, though they appear to be the other option. Axaeon seems to be a bit slow.

Anybody have experience or advice on the specifics to add?
