Hi All, my headphones broke off inside my MBP today and I've tried everything to get them out. Now I've finally given up and was looking at the USB headphone jacks. I have one question; will the USB headphone jack override my normal jack so I can have my sound back?

If not I've got a MPB that I won't use anymore because I work with sound alot of the time (plus I REALLY don't need to drop more money on a new one)

Thanks in advance

Did you try to get it out with tweezers or a toothpick? Plus did you know you can hold down the 'option' key while clicking on the Finder menu icon and then can change input/output sources?

The USB headphone jack should appear as an additional audio output option, so it can indeed override the broken port.
