I have tried two different USB headsets and have the same issue with both and that is the volume is WAY too loud.

I have set the system volume so there is only one little cube when I hit the volume up/down buttons and I have to set the volume in iTunes to an extremely low level (like to where if I moved it over any more it would be muted) just to get to where music is listenable.

The mic volume on the headset is fine.

Am I missing a setting setting somewhere?

EDIT:
If I plug the headset into a USB port in the back it's better (still have to keep the system volume at 10%, but I can set iTunes at a normal level), but it's far less conveinent to plug in and unplug in the back (I had been plugging it in to the keyboard) as I have to go to System Preferences and change the audio output device.
