The Belkin USB 2.0 7 Port Ultra Slim Aluminium Series Silver

Here is the link to the hub I am looking at:
http://www.belkin.com/th/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=534951

There seems to be quite mixed reviews about most USB hubs and macs. I am looking to connect the following devices to my early 2011 MBP 15 inch:

iPhone
iPad
Garmin ANT stick
Scansnap scanner - just the data usb cable not the power cable.
USB DVD Drive
USB memory stick
USB charging cable for bluetooth headset

Does anyone have any experience of having said devices attached to a hub, which is then attached to the MBP. Does it work/charge these devices? Oh, there seems little point in an 3.0 USB hub due to not having USB connections on my MBP.

Thanks

Using a hub to connect phone and Ipad is a bad idea...I've tried it, and it just causes issues..( phone not found etc.) I use a D-Link USB3 hub..rock solid, and would work with all the other devices you mention.

No experience with the belkin, but being high powered it shouldn't be an issue. I have a plugable brand 10 port powered hub and as long as I don't plug in three or four hard drives at the same time and try to use each, it works just fine. No problem with iPhone or iPad data but the hub does not have enough juice to charge my first gen iPad.
