Hi, I need a usb hub and would like one that provides enough power to charge the iPad 3 at a reasonable speed.
I understand that the usb ports on my MacBook will charge it very slowly.
I have found this one on Amazon. It provides 500mA to all 7 usb ports when it is connected to a pc/mac but if you unplug it from the pc/mac and leave it plugged in the at the wall it will provide 1.2a to 2 ports will that be enough to charge a 3rd gen iPad faster than the usb sockets on my MacBook?

Any help would be great as i don't no how much 1.2a is or how much the iPad charger produces.
