I had a small 4-port Belkin USB hub (with power supply) which I got tired of because sometimes, while working on my Mac, my mouse and keyboard would stop working (they go through the USB hub) or my 2.5" USB drive would unmount (also goes through the USB hub).

So I replaced it with a D-Link DUB-H7 hub.

I haven't seen it unmount any devices yet.

But it has another problem. When I click a key on my keyboard to wake-up Snow Leopard, it wakes up, but I cannot enter my password or move the mouse (only built-in keyboard and touchpad works). It's like the USB hub stops working once the Mac wakes up. I have to re-connect it in order to get my keyboard and mouse to work again.

I have also a few times seen it prevent my Mac going to sleep. I'll tell it to sleep and the screens goes black for a second but then comes back on instantly. If I remove the USB hub, sleep works fine.

Any idea what could cause this or what USB hub I can buy that's the BEST QUALITY around?
